Topics: What Makes the Most Comfortable Shoes for Older Women?

Ithink we can all agree that there’s some truth to the stereotype that women love shoes. For some of us, “obsessed” would be a more appropriate word.

Not necessarily, but it seems like a lot of the young women who come here looking for advice who are dating/married to older men are being controlled by the guy, the worst element of that relationship. A slightly better element, but still bad, is that some of the guys just sound really immature and don't seem to know how to behave for someone his age in a romantic relationship. Yes plenty of movies have a May/December dynamic between a man and woman. It seems more a of a fantasy of the male filmmakers. Woody Allen in particular has done very well casting himself as a guy dating women way out of his league. There is a darker side to that (Lolita anyone). However, Woody Allen has also faced some controversy for his relationship with Soon Yi, who was Mia Farrow's adopted daughter. While I can appreciate many of those works, I don't approve of the behavior of Allen, Doohan or Chaplin (separating the art from the artist). I don't think it should be illegal by any means. There are probably plenty of people in relationships with large age gaps who are fine. But them having problems is expected for an advice website like this.

my bf is 8 years older than me we would get along great even if hes so much older than me but we always fight becuz of our diff. religious beliefs.

I think we can all agree that there’s some truth to the stereotype that women love shoes. For some of us, “obsessed” would be a more appropriate word. Throughout our lives, shoes have been a part of our identity. Now, as we get a little older, we have to learn to adapt to our changing feet.

Style is still an important consideration. But, as we reach our 60s, comfort and safety become increasingly important. I found this out the hard way on a trip to Paris a few years back.

Wearing completely the wrong shoes for cobble-stones, I tripped and ended up spending some time in a local hospital. A few days later, I invested in a pair of comfy, yet stylish, travel shoes with plenty of grip. I haven’t fallen since.
